But not too sweet. A citrusy bergamot-fig with a woody dry down? I hadnt worn any type of scent in about 8 years, and this was my reintroduction into the perfume world- definitely a great way to start it out again! So, I bought the bottle and I have no regrets. Opening is more of citrusy followed by elevating florals and woods in it. I sprayed some on my clothes and hair before going to work 6hrs outdoors in the pouring rain.. and I just came home to my roommates complimenting my new perfume. Absolutely adore this. Moreover, it is cheaper, and you cant smell it on everybody. Long lasting. Smells fresh and very nice but I would not buy again. Not exactly what I was expecting, but it's different from anything else I own. This is an absolute love trigger to me. It's good for a light, clean scent in summer heat but that's pretty much where it must stay. In older version hint of fig came out but in the new one it is all about white florals. This is a very easy and fresh scent to wear, but it still has personality that olive tree sneaks in and gives it a bit of an edge because its not too sweet or feminine, it makes people take more notice than to just think it is nice. Its shocking to me that this is discontinued. The taste is much better, crispier and spicier then lemons. That said this scent is mine all mine and love the citrus blast it gives, the performance is there as well for being a citrus freshie. Longevity is very poor. So Italian. Tried this one because I recently fell in love with Chance Eau Fraiche and I am resisting buying it because I don't want be the fifth girl in a room wearing a Chance flanker. If you are buying this, thinking you've made a deal not paying the money for Chance Eau Fraiche, think again, since this is nowhere close to the Chanel one, except for the citrus opening, which I also don't find very similar. . Based on the notes I was expecting something more complex but this is a simple fresh citrus with some sweetness. Love this in warm weather! I can smell lot of citruses and some green notes in the beginning, then it is more floral-green. Well, they do make you think they do, but while eau frache is fresh with notes I personally cannot separate from one another, with a hint of sweetness, just a hint, Versense is fresh with very prominent lily. I love this scent. There's also a creaminess that gives me a lime-cream or key lime pie feelingwhich I love. This is best fit for summers. A fresh summer scent, a bit green, a bit creamy, a bit citrusy with white flowers in the background. It reads a little green, as well as citrus floral, but not anywhere as green as Chanel 19 or Mugler Aura, for example. You wont regret it. by no means is it an unpleasant smell; it's very well blended and uplifting! While it's not sweet, I wouldn't describe it as green at all and I LOVE green scents (life-long Chanel No. This is everything I wanted Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche to be: clean citrus herbal woody wonderfulness with some spice (cardamom). however, there's something about it that just doesn't sit right on my skin. Its summer at the moment, but Id like to see how it performs in colder weather. Even though I prefer the Rosa Verde, I think Versense is more of a safe blind buy since it's more inoffensive and less loud. On me, it smells super-generic like laundry sheets or hand soap, one that says "Fresh Green" or "Green tea & verbena" :( Yuck. It is that damn good. It took about 45 minutes to an hour on my skin. I didn't buy Versence until it was discontinued, and now I need to hurry up and buy a back-up before it goes the way of the Dodo. I blind bought this and was super excited to find a smaller 1 oz size. They will take us to a heart ruled by sea lily, rare flower with rare aromas, strengthened with jasmine petals and bitter-spicy accords of cardamom in an elegant way. Bottle is gorgeous and I'm tempted to get the signature, just so I can display them together. Helps aid seasonal depression because I definitely feel better wearing this during the wintry blues. Another fragrance that lasts only 5 minutes or so. Maybe in the same vein, MAYBE. It makes me feel clean and uplifted. And, truthfully, I am not putting on a whole lot! Blind Purchase - Okay, call me Crazy but I am really loving this fragrance! I get no fig, but I do get the suggestion of cardamom. I now own 3 back up bottles and have also purchased it as gifts for family and friends, that's how good I think it is. I highly recommend it. There is a surreal stagger that ensues, "We couldn't have smelled the same thing!" I walked past a co-worker in a stair well when I was wearing Versense and it was enough for him to pause his conversation with someone else and say You smell good! to me when I walked past him! If I weren't trying to shed my fragrance weight, I'd purchase this in a heartbeat, which isn't something I typically do after testing something. The bergamot smacks you in the face along with that ginger after one spray. All I can say is I never second guess putting this on. It is zesty with a bit of green notes and florals. It is citrusy, green and musky. On my skin, this is a laundry powder fresh, fruity fragrance. However, this is a very nice, fresh, summer scent, that performs decent for a citrus. It reminds me of a dark cloudy day at the beach with the sun slightly shining through the dark clouds. I guess it's conventionally a warm weather scent, but I can imagine it as fitting and soothing also during winter. Imagine a bowl of green, citrus flavored ice cream. It's refreshing, sure, but that doesnt last too long on me. Little bit zesty on the opening, but then it is just gorgeous. So refreshing and bright to wear. In our hot, humid climate it's a winner. I used to spray all of the time- however I went through a phase when I thought I didn't like it anymore- this is because first spritz is very chemical however the dry down after a few minutes is truly mesmerizing it screams sexy. If a woman walked buy me and I smelled this, I would have no choice but to talk to her. I envy those who can experience this with good longevity. Well what can i say.. My second a full 100ml bottle LOVE it. Science Says Maybe, From the Gardens of Versailles to the Gardens of Babylon; The Allure of Olfactory Exploration Beckons at Jardin de Parfums, Priceless Perfume Bottles: An Auction of Poetry in Glass, The Ghost Perfumer by Gabe Oppenheim: on Creed & The Industry, a Book Review. EDT Versace Versense is available in amounts of 30, 50 and 100ml (1, 1.7 and 3 oz) edt. It starts out as a clean and fresh citrus with the lily softening the edges. Versace is an excentric and a bit tacky designer brand. Notes I really like that were able to mellow out any sharpness. After two wears, though, I get a soft floral with a shampoo-y or lotion-y vibe and not much else. To me it's completely unisex. I had this on my want list because I loved the notes and luckily found it on sale. This opened beautifully with sharp, bright, tangy, refreshing, mood-lifting citrus, and I thought, just for an instant, that I might have finally found "the one" (at least as regards a wearable spring/summer fragrance, that is). I think this fragrance reads very soft, but lingers longer than a person imagines. That's the issue I have with a lot of Versace scents: they smell like scented chemicals to me; some are very nice, but chemicals nonetheless. I do think this would be a great scent on a man. But I will wear it in winter even, to remember all the positive emotions which it brings me. Versense is somehow both sharper and sweeter than Chance eau Fraiche. This green gem is truly a masterpiece if you are looking for a fresh aura. I'll be trying it again when the weather warms up in spring and hoping for the bergamot, fig, and sandalwood notes that others are getting. This scent is masculine and different to most fragrances on the market for women- it could easily pass for unisex in my opinion. Like a warm summer day by sea while eating a juicy orange, or crossing some small streets in Athens during spring evening (even though spring evenings smell rather sweet in Athens). My sons love Versense. Cedar, clean musk, sandalwood, frankincense. Best mood lifting and refreshing scent I ever came across. You spray this on and no one will ever think theres a dirty bone in your body. It suits best during spring/summer season. Fig LEAF. All in all, I can recommend it to any woman with a smart, but feminine and charming style. It is a summer scent so the sweetness will not suffocate you. Not particularly sea/coastal perfume, but neither are our summers. THIS is my exact idea of what a summer scent should be. the citrus top notes makes you smile, it is like reminscing good happy memories (a very good vibes. Clean in a fresh zesty way. Versace Versence and Prada Infusion D'iris will always be in my rotation of fragrances. For me one of the bests! With so many rave reviews for Versace Versense, I set my doubts to one side and decided to don this perfume today despite the hot weather and despite the designer, Alberto Morillas, with whom I do not always see eye to eye (or sniff nostril to nostril!). Older version was distinctively woody, borderline unisex. When it dries down, it gets a little bit warmer. This fragrance dries down to a creamy, sweet pear, or maybe it is fig - Im not quite sure here, and lasts all day on my skin. The scent was just lovely at this point, softly green, delicately musky, and with a sandalwood base. Its composition opens with fruit of the Mediterranean: bergamot and green mandarin, and wraps you with freshness and luminous, optimistic accords with irresistible fig zests. I'd own every scent in the dang world if I could because I seem to find something I like about every scent I come into contact with, but THIS is a breath of fresh air quite literally. This to me smells like cucumber lemon water with slight sweetness. This perfume is something special. Its uplifting and energizing. Blind buy due to a discount price, but if I was hoping for something similar to the green of Gucci Envy, I was disappointed. Apparently, he wasn't wearing cologne and it was the young lady wearing it. Nice citrus, wood and florals. Chance by Channel on the other hand ( the green one) is a bit masculine.. Fresh and zesty, although I wouldn't classify the zestyness here particularly citrusy. The tart citrus also lasts surprisingly long on me, before becoming a little more airy sweet floral, then finally a light woodsy. Poor sillage and longevity. It is bordering on the kitchen cleaner synthetic lemon smell though. Pleasure will rise with sparks of citruses mixed with fruity aromas. This fragrance is a very easy reach. Simply love Versense, and I do not love many fresh citrus perfumes. I have gotten so many compliments already. it is not on the US official site. One night I was at work bartending, and there was a cute couple getting drinks at the bar, and as soon as they sat down, I got the most fresh and zesty scent to my nose! Thankfully and surprisingly there's nothing screechy, harsh, or sharply synthetic in this, to my nose at least. It's a very unique smell, very fresh, and I don't think anyone else would be wearing this one! My favorite gym scent all year round. It straight up seduces me. Apart from the lemon, there are no fruits in the composition, which, probably due to cedar wood and to musk and pepper, has a masculine vibe to it. People below have done a great job describing it. This is Versense. Excellent buy for citrus lovers. After 30 mins, the scent will become a floral citrus combo. To me, it dries down to a powdery cozy citrus. If you can pick it up cheaply however, and treat it more like an Eau de Cologne or after shower spritz, I don't think you will be disappointed. I saw a u-tuber talk about it, blind bought it, fell in love with it. The only thing I remember, not being able to connect those two perfumes other than by green, invigorating, refreshing colours. What a lovely surprise - the nice scent of herbs and citruses, not too sweet, very clean and refreshing. I blind purchased this past summer because I didnt have that many easy reach summer fragrances. Ok projection and longevity. Some colleagues of mine said they recognise me from this smell. I'm ususally not a big fan of citrusy, fresh fragrances but I love Versense. A good choice for either gender as a work place scent or an everyday casual scent. Citrus, white floral and vanilla. Love the scent. Blast of bergamot and pomelo, so fresh and juicy I can taste the pulps. I disagree with the ratings here - I think this could easily go from day to night. I can't believe it's discontinued! Similar to Peace, Love, and Daises by Bath and Body Works (was a limited time summer release years back). Dries down to a soft soapy green scent lacking soul. Immediately, you catch a very strong and energetic citrusy scent that lasts for quite some time. The florals are light but sill detectible which is great because it's not an in your face floral like her older sister Versace Signature. Received this today expecting a fresh Green citrus instead i was transported back to Gucci Envy! It's totally spring/summer scent. It opens bright and citrussy fresh, dries down to a cedar musk scent with a hint of sandalwood. Semi sweet, fresh, woody citrus. They even refer to themselves as fairies! It is my best citrus perfume. I also get a vibe of Tea, which also smell pretty nice and relaxing. Imagine Crystal Noir stripped of gardenia, amber and ginger- Keep everything else but tone down the spices. Although I don't think it is similar to Chance Eau Fraiche I like to use it as its counterpart in summer. I have a small 5 mL bottle, but I dont think I will get a full bottle because I have Light Blue. Its one of my signatures. They're roughly the same cost so I will stick to my Valentino. Water, refreshing water everywhere. Not just a clean smell scent. Ya know, I like this. Airy, cheerful, confident, fresh. I can feel fig and pear a lot. Green and in your face but not in a way that chokes you out. Love to wear it at the gym. This is definitely worth testing if you like green scents. I absolutely love this. Crisp and clean scent. Very clean, light and happy. It opens with sharp, acidic citruses which stay throughout its life. This is well made and initially reminds me of a higher end Be Delicious or Adidas Pure Lightness (which I love). Last pretty good though and thats rare in freshies. Maybe Versense will be it, I don't know it for sure, but I can sense the flowers here, though quiet silent and gentle.
Lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, black pepper, cardamom, anise, mimosa, freesia, linden, geranium, pear lemongrass. It smells like crisp lime, with a tiny hint of fresh sweetness and a light bitter smell all in one. After years of almost blind buying this, I finally was sent a mini. Its a bit sharp the first few minutes, but that softens quickly. I suppose I will start with the bright and cheery top notes, which protract light through the dome-like, beading drops of citrus oils, wrung gently from rind. It is a pleasant and uplifting zesty goodness in the opening with understated floral and woody notes in the dry down. I think I know why Versace discontinued this one. I. notes. The bottle is beaituful, so classy and pleasant. I can smell the cardamom though, which isn't overpowering, and I enjoy this element too. Verse se is a bit fruitier in the brief opening- think its the pear. Great juice, very clean, long lasting and compliments getter. The fig and cedar notes make it transform into something completely different. You can smell the lightly floral note with the slightest hint of fruit in it. I also think skin chemistry plays a role in this one because my skin turns everything sweet. Goshh this is one of my favorite women's fragrances. also, this is worth the money. Always reach for it during summer/spring. Here on the perfume profile people have suggested it reminds them of Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel: I have to politely disagree. I don't usually love Versace's fragrance DNA, but this DNA with these notes works. i would just prefer not to smell myself as an old woman and sneeze all day. But, something bitter like this is dreamy on me. There are no powdery tones here at all and I appreciate that, in my opinion it could be unisex despite the floral notes because it is just so CLEAN. Sparkling, fresh and elegant. This is a lovely citrus fragrance. There's nothing natural here for me, I prefer Un Jardin Sur Le Nil for a more natural citrus punch. very feminine!! I couldn't agree more with all the very positive reviews - no need to add more paragraphs because I think everyone has done a great job on Versense. Anyone who likes fresh scents will probably like it. Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. I usually do better with bergamot with its floral nuances than orange/lemon (which strike me as household cleaner) so this was promising offering, but unfortunately it's a little too in the same vein of Light Blue for my preferences. I know a lot of reviews say this is too sour and acidic but that's what I love about it. This amazing juice is uplifting, bright, crisp, clean, calming and sensuous. It was unique I thought. Easy to wear casual scent. It's my favorite from Versace and one I wear in spring and summer. I love citruses and figs but there is too much of them in here. Nice, but nothing special, smells like a watered down version of "acqua di gioia fraiche". Gorgeous fresh spring/summer scent. This is a long-lasting "freshie" that is quite uplifting. I really love this coming from Versace, my fav house. This was a blind buy, diamond in rough. the opening is lovely! I do also get the lily, but barely any wood. Nothing new under the sun. This one tends to elevate my mood all the time I wear it. This is a fresh green fragrance perfect on a gorgeous bright summer day. Though I do not see it listed, all I smell is a huge burst of green apple. It is coloured in light green, it is luxurious and decorated with traditional Versace symbols. This is gorgeous! It's been her signature scent for years and years. Like an elegant woman, sitting on the coast, her lily perfume intertwining with the scents of the sea and trees. It was my summer signature for several seasons. I was unsure why people thought of this as unisex, its pretty girlie at first spritz but i can say the dry down is def more unisex. I'm giving it a full wear test today so I'll update you on projection & longevity. Very clean, citrusy opening. So thats just my two cents.. I just sniffed the cap and thought "ew". Witness the spray of incandescence, sparkling in the air before anointing skin and surfaces with the most photo-realistic lime notes. I love the sandalwood dry down and the fig and cardomom. Super citrusy and refreshing. My mother-in-law wears this. Versense is an intriguing, elegant perfume, but I find it difficult to find feminine accents in them. I couldn't tell if was him or her? Creamy, luscious lily. Im so glad I did. I have only seen this in discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls, but if you see it, I would definitely suggest to purchase if you like light citrusy scents! I wish I got more of the wood notes. Just tested this and it's a clean, citrusy scent. It presents as unisex to my nose because of the prominent indistinct citrus, fig, cardamom, laundry musk and iso E super base. To my noseI get citrus, tea, cedar (or pine?) I saw people compared this to Chance au Tendre but it reminds me more of the original DKNY Be Delicious. If someone wants to trade or something, please let me know?? this one really comes to life in the lowe's garden center. I hadn't heard of this fragrance before and I really like it. It is fresh and elegant, otherwise. I really love how it smells out of the bottle. It would have been a good blind buy. This is a very inoffensive soft floral musk. Sillage is very close to the skin. This will be my summer go to, also a lovely out of the shower/ bed time fragrance in my opinion :). To further carry the feel of the virginal Mediterranean, and so befittingly contained within the heart of the composition, tender Jasmine notes begin their enchantment. Can definitely see this as a crowd pleaser, safe for office. I absolutely adore this perfume, and will continue to purchase it even though it's been discontinued(?) The longevity of this is amazing & during the day was smelling this on myself quite noticeably for hours. Versace Versense is so refreshing and clean, not sweet, and Im surprised by just how well it works every time. Fragrance Reviews: 1,286,749 I started driving and noticed the fragrance morph into what I can only call stale Irish Spring soap. Only one or two sprays does it with Versace Versense, which projects well on my skin even in winter, more than that might offend others exercising near me.
